AACR's Enduring Impact and the Chao Family Foundations' Support
Mar 12, 2022
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is more than 100 years old and has worked tirelessly to promote aggressive and innovative cancer research. Through public awareness campaigns, funding of research projects, cross-discipline communications and nurturing the next generation of cancer research professionals, AACR has invested heavily in its ultimate vision: discovering a cure for cancer.
This gift from Chao Family Foundations was targeted to the AACR Women in Cancer Research’s Career Mentoring Sessions. Career Mentoring Sessions, held during the annual meetings, are for medical and graduate students, clinical and post-doctorate fellows and medical residents. Participants have the opportunity to meet and learn from the foremost cancer researchers. Angela Chao and the Members of the Foundation Board were particularly interested to make a gift that would help young women strengthen their professional development and contributions to the field of cancer research.
