Ruth Mulan Chu Chao's Biography Released in Taipei

Ruth Mulan Chu Chao’s biography book “Calm Amidst The Storm” was released in Taipei on October 29, 2019.

The book tells the story of Mrs. Chao’s upbringing, the couple’s journey to the U.S., the establishment of Foremost Group, and how important it was to Dr. and Mrs. Chao to imbue their six daughters with their strong work ethic and outlook on life.

Dr. Chao said that he credits her unwavering love and support for paving the way towards his success in America. Under enormous odds, Mrs. Chao courageously and steadfastly supported her husband’s pursuits, even when that meant he would go to America by himself first, separating her from his and his three children for almost three long hears.

Dr. Chao’s daughter Angela, who currently serves as Foremost Group Chair and CEO, shared how her parents taught her and her siblings to challenge themselves and to always remain independent. “My parents have been telling us to challenge ourselves, keep learning, and be curious. Our mother said that gender was not a constraint and that with an education, we had a bigger world to explore and a responsibility to give back.”
